Power Control Centres (PCC)
Main LT distribution panels with ACB/MCCB feeders, metering and protection, up to 6300 A busbar.

About Power Control Centres (PCC)
A power control centre (PCC) is the main LT switchboard of a plant or building. It takes the supply from the transformer or DG set through one or more incomers, usually air circuit breakers, and distributes it through ACB, MCCB or switch-fuse feeders to motor control centres, distribution boards and large loads, with metering and protection on each circuit.
Microtech designs and builds PCC panels at its Varanasi and Lucknow facilities. Each board starts from your single-line diagram and fault level: we size the busbar for the connected load, select breakers whose breaking capacity matches the prospective short-circuit current, and set the form of separation so a feeder can be worked on while the rest of the board stays live.
Switchgear comes from the Lauritz & Knudsen, Schneider Electric and Siemens ranges — for example L&K U-Power Omega and C-Power ACBs, Schneider MasterPacT MTZ and Siemens SENTRON 3WA — so spares and service stay with the manufacturer. GA and wiring drawings go to you for approval before fabrication, and the board is routine-tested before dispatch.

Power Control Centres (PCC) — FAQs
What is the difference between a PCC and an MCC panel?
A PCC distributes power: it carries the main incomers and feeds sub-boards and large loads. An MCC controls motors: each feeder is a complete starter with contactor, overload protection and control. Many plants have one PCC feeding several MCCs.
Which ACB brands do you use in PCC panels?
We work with Lauritz & Knudsen (U-Power Omega and C-Power), Schneider Electric (MasterPacT MTZ) and Siemens (SENTRON 3WA) air circuit breakers. If your specification names a make, the board is designed around it.
What form of separation should I specify?
Under IEC 61439-2, Form 2 separates the busbars from the functional units; Form 3 also separates the functional units from each other; Form 4 additionally separates each unit's outgoing terminals from those of the other units. Each form has 'a' and 'b' variants that differ in how the terminals are separated. Form 3b or 4b is often specified for critical plants — we can advise against your maintenance practice and budget.
Are your PCC panels type-tested?
Our designs follow IS/IEC 61439 and use manufacturer-tested switchgear with verified busbar arrangements. If a project needs a type-test certificate for a specific rating, tell us at the enquiry stage and we will confirm what can be provided.
