AMF (Auto Mains Failure) Panels
Unattended changeover panels that start, load and stop a DG set on mains failure.

About AMF (Auto Mains Failure) Panels
An AMF (Auto Mains Failure) panel watches the incoming mains supply and runs the DG set without an operator. When mains voltage or frequency goes outside set limits, the controller starts the engine, waits for stable generator voltage and transfers the load. When mains returns and stays healthy, it transfers back, runs the set unloaded to cool down and stops it.
Microtech builds AMF panels in-house around a dedicated controller – for example the Deep Sea DSE7320 MKII, which senses three-phase mains and generator voltage, handles automatic start, stop and transfer, and talks Modbus over RS232/RS485 – or the genset maker's own controller. Changeover is through electrically and mechanically interlocked contactors, motorised breakers or an automatic transfer switch, using Lauritz & Knudsen or Schneider Electric switchgear.
Each panel is wired, tested and supplied with drawings, and commissioned with the DG set by our team in Uttar Pradesh.

AMF (Auto Mains Failure) Panels — FAQs
What does an AMF panel do?
It senses a mains failure, starts the DG set, moves the load to the generator once its voltage is stable, and moves it back to mains when supply returns – then lets the engine cool down and stops it. No operator is needed.
Can you add an AMF panel to my existing DG set?
Usually yes. The set needs an electric starter and the controller must be able to read its speed and engine sensors. We check this on site before quoting.
Which changeover device do you use?
It depends on rating: interlocked contactors or motorised breakers for most panels, or an automatic transfer switch to IS/IEC 60947-6-1. All are 4-pole and interlocked so mains and DG can never be connected together.
