OVERVIEW

About Cummins & Kirloskar DG Sets

Alongside Caterpillar, Microtech supplies diesel generator sets from Cummins and Kirloskar, both with established dealer service networks in India. Both offer CPCB IV+ compliant sets starting at 7.5 kVA, which covers everything from a shop or clinic to a large commercial building or factory.

Cummins lists its CPCB IV+ India range from 7.5 kVA to 750 kVA, with a remote monitoring device and fuel and DEF level sensing. Kirloskar's CPCB IV+ diesel sets also start at 7.5 kVA, offered at 230 V single-phase or 415 V three-phase. Its 82.5–200 kVA sets, for example, use common-rail (CRDi) fuel injection with an exhaust gas treatment system, deliver 415 V at 0.8 power factor, and are declared below 75 dB(A) in their canopy.

We help you choose between the two on rating, fuel and DEF consumption, footprint and local service access, then supply the set with its canopy and an AMF panel, and install and commission it.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Cummins & Kirloskar DG Sets — FAQs

Cummins or Kirloskar – which DG set should I buy?

Both offer CPCB IV+ sets across the common ratings. We compare the specific models on fuel and DEF consumption, footprint, controller features and service support at your location, and recommend one with the reasons in writing.

What is DEF and do CPCB IV+ gensets need it?

DEF (diesel exhaust fluid, often sold as AdBlue) is a urea solution dosed into the exhaust so an SCR catalyst can cut NOx. Sets that use it – Cummins' CPCB IV+ range, for example, has a DEF level sensor – need the DEF tank topped up alongside diesel. After-treatment differs by make and rating, so we confirm whether the quoted set needs DEF.

Can I get a small single-phase DG set?

Yes. Kirloskar offers its 7.5 kVA CPCB IV+ set at 230 V single-phase as well as 415 V three-phase, and Cummins' CPCB IV+ range also starts at 7.5 kVA. We size it to your actual connected load.

Do you supply the AMF panel with the generator?

Yes. We build AMF and changeover panels in-house and supply them with the set, so it starts and takes load automatically when mains fails.
